If you consider how bones operate, it makes a lot of sense that they benefit from jumping. Bones, after all, are living tissue that need “weight bearing” force to build and maintain their density. “Weight bearing” exercise uses the force of gravity against bones and muscle to achieve its results.

When performed correctly, weight bearing exercise puts just enough pressure on bones to stimulate them so that they renew themselves, creating new cells to replace old ones and soaking up calcium, which makes them harder.

This means that nearly 60 percent of adults age 50 and older are at risk…one in two women and up to one in four men age 50 and older will break a bone due to osteoporosis.”
